Opportunity springs forth Hope, Future changes, probably Wealthier Status, and joyful Peace. Government does not provide such blessings.
Do not depend on Government for advanced education and /or training, jobs, and self progress. What Government does do is limit opportunities, stifle the individual, and proclaim itself the benefactor of everyone. The Minimum Wage elevation will deter the hiring for starter jobs by which the individual learns how to work, to service customers, to manage self and others becoming of value to warrant a pay raise. Some will become supervisors, some owners, some franchizees who will be able to afford the inflationary increase in general costs that an elevated minimal wage will foster. The Government also regulates who works as a hair dresser or barber; doctor, nurse, technicians; CPAs and real estate agents by requiring licenses and fees. Jobs provide the worker with training. Jobs are created by small businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators not by Government.
The current political fad is to lament sizable inequality of pay for bank and industry chief executive officers (CEO) who bring to the negotiation with the board of directors education usually a masters degree in business, years of experience and training, and demonstable judgment as opposed to starter workers and workers who have not enhanced their skills.
The Affordale Health Care Act also contributes to workers not hired, especially first job hires because the costs of the medical mandates exceeds their value to the companies in skills, know how, and experience. The companies can but the Government cannot determine the value of the individual.
The Government determines interest rates via Federal Reserve System thereby limiting everyone's interest earnings and bond earnings to less than 2 %, which is lower than the inflation rate thereby compromising the value and virtue of savings.
There is a trend currently for countries, states, cities to own up to the realization that the social expenditures have to be pared because of the rising unmet financial obligations which will lose resident's pensions and bankrupt the institutions.
In Tony Blair's book “A Journey My Political Life “, Afred A. Kroph, New York/ Canada 2010, the Prime Minister (1997-2007) of Great Britain achieved monumental changes in his Labour Party via his New Labour programes which were also approved by Parliament. He changed Labour's liberal economic philosophy and policies to more conservative concepts which permitted freeing the individual in choices and actions (Ibid p572).This was markedly so in education. His major thrust in education was trusting the students, administrators, and teachers to respond positively to not being fettered and directed by the state, unions, and old traditions but by their enthusiastic participation in the new innovations arising in the individual schools (Ibid p572). This raised the school wide test scores (Ibid p572). “They improved because no one told them they can't “ (Ibid p572) .
P.M. Blair thought the policies should focus on the nidus of education's problem, the dysfunctional families, to combat their destructive behavior by student and parents, of no discipline in and no cooperation with the school (Ibid p636). This was the dysfunctional's heavy drag that emited a dispiriting hopeless approach in the schools (Ibid p636). “ This requires gripping and seizing...” [ the process of establishing forcibly significant changes] (Ibid p636).
Science should concentrate on telling the country facts and the right to decide to act or not [is left to the elected] (Ibid p638). “ Anti-science or bogus science suppresses the truth” (Ibid p638).
Multiculturism should be clearly stated. With citizenship should come certain clear duties, basic values, one language, and one way of life as well as rights (Ibid p638).
The modern work place is all about utilizing human capital. Governments and unions should be demanding their peoples' creativity and skills to be used to maximal effect and they should be active participants in forming concepts as well as receiving part of the wealth produced (Ibid p. 639).
Pensions should have a frame work set in place that over time would make costs manageable and tilt responsibility for provision from state to individuals (Ibid p578).
So bet on yourself and meritocracy to attain education, training, and acquiring judgment. Do not depend upon Government, but take advantage of the United States' freedom to choose your job and its liberty to propel yourself forward and upward.
